THE CASTLE IN BOBOLICE

Bobolice's fortress was originally a royal castle built on the initiative of Casimir the Great probably around 1350 (although probably some fortifications existed here before, and the legend speaks of the castle of a certain Bobollo, knight of Boleslaw the Wrymouth). Like other Jurassic castles, Bobolice belonged to a system of border defenses designed to defend the Kingdom of Poland against invasions from Silesia, which belonged to the Kingdom of Bohemia at the time. In 1370 the ruling Polish Ludwik Węgierski gave the castle Wladyslaw Opolczyk. The fortress was temporarily taken by his courtier, Andrzej Barlabasz (called Andrzej Węgrem), who dealt with the robbery of a robbery by plundering the surrounding population. This activity was cut off by King Władysław Jagiełło. After several changes of the owners of the castle, in the year 1486 Mikołaj Kreza coat of arms Ostoja, whose family had dominated the Bobolica fort for a century and a half. In 1587, the fortress was acquired by the army of Maximilian Habsburg, the pretender to the Polish throne, and then was repaired by Jan Zamojski. In 1625 the castle passed into Myszkowski's hands, holding the nearby Mirow, and several decades later into the hands of Menciński. After the devastation caused by the wars in the 17th and 18th centuries, the castle fell into ruin.

In the 19th century a great treasure was found in its cellars. Legends related to the castle tell of a subterranean tunnel connecting it to a nearby fortress in Mirow, as well as two brothers who rule in both wars, whose love for one woman ended in fratricide. In 1999 the castle was bought by the Lasecki family, which undertook to rebuild the facility preceded by archaeological and security works. According to many, this reconstruction constitutes a rescue for the fortune-tellers from Havoc, although there are also criticisms. The castle, officially opened in September 2011, is accessible to tourists.
